Residencia del Carmen
Branding & Custom WordPress Website
For this project, I was responsible for creating the complete visual identity and digital presence of Residencia Del Carmen, a care home for elderly people located in the Cercedilla-Madrid. The goal was to develop a warm, trustworthy, and professional brand that reflects the values of the residence and offers a clear, accessible experience for families and residents.
My work:
- New logo and visual identity.
- Consistent UI design system.
- Custom WordPress theme from scratch.
- Responsive design.
- Responsible for ongoing support and hosting management.
I designed a new logo that represents community, care, and support - the core pillars of the care home.
For typography, I selected Lora Bold for headings, giving the brand an elegant and traditional tone aligned with the residence's personality. For body text, I used Source Sans 3, chosen for its excellent readability and modern feel. Together, these typefaces create a harmonious balance between warmth and professionalism.

Colour Design System
The visual identity is built around a calming green palette and a clean, welcoming aesthetic. I developed a colour palette that conveys calmness, trust, and a sense of care. The primary colours (Eden and Acapulco), are soothing green tones associated with health, stability, and nature, helping to create a welcoming and reassuring atmosphere for residents and their families. These greens form the core of the brand, appearing in the logo, key headings, and interface accents.
To balance and support the primary palette, I introduced a set of secondary neutral tones, including Dove Gray, Alto, Gallery, and White. These colours provide clarity, contrast, and spaciousness in the layout while keeping the design modern and easy to read. The use of Black as a strong supporting colour ensures excellent legibility for text and enhances the overall visual structure.

Responsive Design & Mobile Experience
A key part of the project was ensuring that the website delivers an excellent user experience across all devices. Because many families searching for elderly care services access information on mobile, I designed the interface with a mobile-first approach, prioritising clarity, readability, and easy navigation on smaller screens.
The layout adapts seamlessly from mobile to tablet and desktop, preserving visual harmony at every breakpoint. Elements such as icons, buttons, and text blocks were carefully scaled for accessibility. I also implemented touch-friendly interactions, clear spacing, and flexible grid structures to maintain usability and aesthetics on different screen sizes.
